Trottier’s story tells of Anna, a Mennonite girl, traveling north through Mexico with her farmworker family. She reflects on what she feels: like a rabbit, a kitten, even a bird migrating, and how she longs for tree-like permanence in a home she can call her own. Her musings are tenderly illustrated by Arsenault in evocative watercolor and graphite as readers follow Anna and her family on their journey.
