Akiko Miyakoshi
Momo is nervous about her first recital. Before it is her turn, a tiny mouseling voice urges her to follow. She finds a parallel hall, filled with performing mice. She meets an anxious mouse ballerina and when she offers help by playing the piano, Momo is surprised by the applause. Where are all the mice now? Miyakoshi’s fantastical story of overcoming one’s fears is complemented by whimsical charcoal illustrations with the red of Momo’s dress that keep her in the spotlight.
